Attention – Your Most Valuable Asset
The most important commodity in the new market isn’t information, it’s ATTENTION.
Governments, private organizations, companies, friends, family and everyone in between are all vying for your attention.
Your attention is the single most valuable thing you have and everybody wants it.
Companies with a product to sell will pay millions of dollars to get just a few seconds of your attention during a television commercial, or a magazine ad etc…
Politicians spend millions of dollars and travel the country coast to coast in order to get your attention to get your votes.
Children throw fits and cry for attention.
Friends and family will also compete for your attention.
It’s your most scare resource and the one of the most value to other people. Where you direct it will determine where your life goes.
In this podcast we’ll discuss how the new economy is the race to get and hold your attention and how you must control where you put your attention in order to line it up with your goals.

11/10. Awesome awesome
Thankyou for this podcast, by far the most interesting yet. I got alot out of it, it’s just what I needed for this stage in my life too.
Great podcast. Focus on what is important and tune out the static. You are the master of your fate and the captain of your soul.
-When the attention is right, the action happens.
-”The choosing what to do is the hard part.”
Exactly! That really hits it on the head. That is exactly what’s happened with me, and I doubt I’m the only one. I bounced around from idea to idea for years, but once I finally found the right thing to focus on, my action changed right away, and it was easy. I had my doubts that I would ever change. Now I’m down 16-17 pounds! Not so hard.
I also love the idea of basing one’s social support on people who have been there, who have done it already. And interacting and communicating with like-minded people, rather than relying on people who don’t understand, or who are going to argue with you, judge you, look down on you, guilt trip you, etc. Fortunately that hasn’t happened to me during my weight loss efforts, but it sounds like a lot of other people have been through that, and it’s such a shame. For those of us who have been overweight for so long, who have been so badly damaged by it, and who are so excited to have found the answer… the last thing we need is all that stress and conflict with the people in our lives.
Great stuff, guys.
I’ve lived all my life by this maxim so I know it works. A guy once told me, years ago; If you wanna be a carpenter go stand next to one. If you want to be a millionaire go stand with one.
I never found my millionaire but the rest worked out OK..
Phil… I like this “maxim”…
I think I’m going to borrow it
Couldn’t disagree more with your opinion on telling people what to do. You should tell people what you are going to do, you just shouldn’t care what their response is. Either they will come around and help you out or they will be impressed/annoyed should you succeed.
If people liked this podcast, you should read the book “Think and Grow Rich” where these concepts were originally presented.
