How to Gain 8 Pounds in One Workout

Diet and fitness marketing material is littered with outrageous claims about weight loss and muscle gaining.

Some marketers would actually have you believe that you could gain 20 pounds of muscle in a month, or 40 pounds of muscle in 6 months.

Brad Pilon and I did a video showing how Brad gained a legitimate 8lbs of lean mass in 1 workout!

This isn’t a lie or a joke, Brad actually gained 8lbs of measurable lean body mass in about 1 hour. So you’re probably asking yourself “how could this be?”

The answer is simple…if you understand how lean mass is measured and the difference between lean body mass and muscle mass.

In this podcast we replay the “how to gain 8lbs in one workout’ teleseminar (for those of you who might have missed it.

We discuss the main points to look for namely:

1. Don’t believe everything you hear or even see

2. The difference between what is said and what you hear

3. And how your fitness and diet marketing BS radar is probably not calibrated correctly (in other words, you most likely will believe something that is not possible)

I’m nearly 66 and after I watched the vid, I tried to reproduce the same effect.

The good news is, I gained around 5lb. The bad news is I drank around 3 to 4 pints of water in the 55 minute session. Now I used to be an engineer and am aware that 8 pints weighs 10 lb, so 4 must weigh 5lb. Lets say I drank 3, which makes 3 and 3/4 lb and assume I sweat 1/2 pint (unlikely), that accounts for 3 1/4lbs of my magical muscle gain.
According to my maths that leaves a puny 1 3/4 lb gain.
Which considering I was knackered for 2 days afterwards, was rather dissappointing.

    But hey…..I’m old.

  2. Akbar says:

Hey, this is not real gaining, because of water. But, workouts are cool and drinking water during the workout is also advised by experts, because it can help for blood circulation through body during the workouts. These workouts may show its effects in 3 month but, gaining 8 pounds in one workouts is not real. It is just because of water. I can prove it even without workouts.
